Okonomiyaki is an iconic food of Hiroshima.
It’s deeply entrenched in the culture of Hiroshima.
Some say it’s a “Japanese savory pancake” as it’s made from eggs, flour, water (stock) with various
toppings.
Osaka is also famous for Okonomiyaki, but Hiroshima style okonomiyaki is completely different from Osaka
style.
In Osaka style, everything is mixed and stirred before frying on the pan.
In Hiroshima style, ingredients are piled up in order.
Plenty of cabbage and noodles are contained as important ingredients. It’s the most remarkable feature of
Hiroshima style.
(It contains slices of pork also.)
